In-Depth Review
The process is quite simple. Once you've signed up, one of their credit repair specialists will pull your credit reports for you and start to discuss your options in regards to improving any errors or oversights on your report. You'll have a one-on-one consultation with one of their FICO-certified professionals where you'll go over any items on your report that could be disputed with a favorable outcome.
The dispute process involves the folks at Credit Pro sending out dispute letters on your behalf to the three major credit bureaus. Then, there's a waiting period of up to 30 days while the bureau has an opportunity to see if they're able to verify the false item on your credit report, or if they'll be forced to remove it for you. Credit Pro will only submit legitimate dispute letters, as doing so in bad faith can hurt your score in the long-run.
The Credit Pros report that 650 is the average credit score, so if you're below 650 – technically you're below average, but that's okay because there's typically at least one error that can be repaired.
Services offered by The Credit Pros include working on your behalf to force credit bureaus to remove negative items from your report, to provide you with great advice throughout the entire process, to ensure your rights as an American are being respected, do help educate you along the process, and to ensure you are equipped with the necessary info and tools to avoid falling into a bad place again in terms of your credit. They want to help you get out of the hole, and to stay out.
How much do The Credit Pros charge?
Most of the credit repair companies we've looked at have a similar pricing scheme, where you pay a setup fee and then a monthly fee to keep your account open regardless of how much gets done in each payment period. Some companies guarantee that they'll send X amount of letters per month, but that doesn't ensure that those letters will be approved, so you could still be paying for nothing.
The Credit Pros, on the other hand, use a different style of pricing. Their registration/setup fee is a bit higher than others we've seen, at $179 per individual or $279 per couple. The reason that this initial fee is higher is because it's the last penny you'll ever have to pay them until the results start coming in. You'll then pay $50 for each confirmed deletion from your credit report. So, if nothing gets deleted for a couple of months, you're not paying $99 per month like you would be with other providers, you're only paying for results after the initial fee.
Do they offer any kinds of guarantees?
They do. In fact, they offer numerous guarantees to protect you as a consumer in the event that the service doesn't live up to your expectations. First of all, you are free to cancel at anytime. There aren't any contracts that will bind you to them, they're not one of those companies that tries to force you into continuing to do business with them even if you aren't happy. They also guarantee that they will not over-promise or make any impossible claims of the results that they'll get. They understand that nothing is guaranteed when it comes to credit reports, and every file is different, but they'll work as hard as they can to get results for you because that's how they get paid.
The Credit Pros also guarantee to treat you with courtesy and in a professional manner, and to answer any and all of your inquiries in a timely fashion.
Also, they have a 90 day money back guarantee which is the most important kind. If they don't get anything taken off of your credit report within the first 90 days, then you're eligible for a full refund. Of course, it's unfortunate that the negative items weren't able to be removed, but at least you aren't out any cash, and now you have a better idea what will need to be done in order to fix your credit.
